This superb newly designed three-way, five-speaker bass-reflex column is the flagship of a series that adopts the values that inspired its celebrated predecessor – the Olympica – while adding a spectacular number of latest technological developments.
Thus, the panels used in the Olympica Nova V are made with eight layers of bent and pressed wood that provide extreme rigidity to the enclosure, inside which carefully placed structural ribs are used as reinforcement to reduce vibration and handle the entire the acoustic power generated by the movement of the speakers.
The front panel is made from hand-finished natural wood to enhance the entire enclosure, and genuine leather covering has also been applied around the tweeters, midrange speakers and woofers. In addition, the outer part of the exclusive Stealth Ultraflex bass-reflex port, characterized by exhibiting an extremely low level of turbulence, has been manufactured from a solid block of extruded aluminum.
Regarding the electroacoustic technology used, the Olympica Nova V mounts a silk dome tweeter with DAD ("Damped Apex Dome') technology from Sonus Faber , accompanied by a midrange speaker and three woofers derived from those used in the Homage Tradition collection, having introduced several significant changes. In the case of the woofers, let us highlight that they mount a cone that benefits from a sophisticated sandwich structure in which two sheets of cellulose pulp flank a core of state-of-the-art syntactic foam.
This set of speakers is managed by a frequency divider filter based on the Italian brand's exclusive "Paracross Topology", which allows the sensitivity to radio frequency interference to be substantially reduced, improving the response to transients and reducing background noise. Let us finally point out that the Olympica Nova V rests on an elegant aluminum structure combined with steel decoupling tips.
