This attractive two-way, two-speaker monitor is the only bookshelf speaker in a series that adopts the values that inspired its celebrated predecessor – the Olympica – while adding a spectacular number of latest technological developments.
Thus, the panels used in the Olympica Nova I are made with eight layers of bent and pressed wood that provide extreme rigidity to the enclosure, inside which carefully placed structural ribs are used as reinforcement to reduce vibration and handle the entire the acoustic power generated by the movement of the speakers.
The front panel is made from hand-finished natural wood to enhance the entire enclosure, and genuine leather covering has also been applied around the tweeter and mid/bass speakers. In addition, the outer part of the exclusive Stealth Ultraflex bass-reflex port, characterized by exhibiting an extremely low level of turbulence, has been manufactured from a solid block of extruded aluminum.
Regarding the electroacoustic technology used, the Olympica Nova I mounts a silk dome tweeter with DAD ("Damped Apex Dome') technology from the Italian brand, accompanied by a mid/bass speaker derived from the one used in the collection Homage Tradition, having introduced several significant changes therein. In the case of the 'midwoofer', let us highlight that it mounts a cone that benefits from a sophisticated sandwich structure in which two sheets of cellulose pulp flank a core of state-of-the-art syntactic foam.
A frequency divider filter based on Sonus Faber 's exclusive "Paracross Topology" is responsible for managing said set of speakers, which allows the sensitivity to radio frequency interference to be substantially reduced, improving the response to transients and reducing the background noise. Let us finally point out that the Olympica Nova I is finished with aluminum elements, while it can be completed with the elegant Nova Stand metal support made to measure for it.
