Like its predecessor, the MHA150 takes advantage of exclusive McIntosh technologies to create the best possible intimate listening experience regardless of the headphones used. This is the case of the iconic Autoformer, adapted to guarantee optimal power delivery at three ranges of headphone impedances: 8-40 ohms, 40-150 ohms and 150-600 ohms. Regarding the DAC section, it should be noted that the MHA150's USB input accepts PCM signals up to 32 bits/384 kHz and DSD up to DSD156 (11.2 MHz), with one of McIntosh 's exclusive MCT inputs also being available for make a secure DSD connection with the brand's SACD transport mechanics. The MHA150 also includes Headphone Crossfeed Director (HXD) technology, which adds an extra dimension to music listening and can be disabled based on user preferences. On the other hand, a second output section with DC coupling allows the MHA150 to comfortably drive a pair of tabletop speakers, while a 5-step bass boost control provides an extra degree of customization that the most demanding will appreciate. The MHA150 is completed with two iconic McIntosh elements: the treated glass front panel and two elegant analogue VU meters with a blue background.
