For eight years, the Brinkmann Edison has been one of the phono preamplifiers of choice for absolute sound enthusiasts who demand not only the highest possible performance, but also the ultimate in versatility thanks to absolutely spectacular configuration options. Some options that have just been improved in the MkII version of the Edison, presented at this year's High End competition in Munich, which stands out especially for incorporating a completely redesigned version of the aforementioned circuitry as a result of a meticulous fine-tuning process carried out out by Helmut Brinkmann . Thus, in the Edison MkII practically every capacitor present in the RIAA equalization section has been updated with another of a new type and/or a new value, the result being a noticeable improvement in such relevant parameters as precision and linearity. On the other hand, the lessons learned in the development of the aforementioned Nyquist network music player have allowed the output stage of the original Edison to be substantially improved, achieving what Brinkmann proudly describes as “a closer connection to music.” ”.
