The Brooklynites weren't sure what the headphones they would get would be like, but they were soon surprised at how quickly these became one of the factory's favorites. “To be frank, it is one of the best-sounding Limited Editions we have created,” the brand says.
Hemp takes center stage but The Hemp is a team effort. GRADO has used maple wood in the case along with hemp to improve the balance of the sound and bring out the acoustic properties of the wood that they know so well. Adding maple gave them leeway, but only through trial and error were they able to make hemp's peculiarities shine.
The last seven decades have been enough time for GRADO to perfect its sound, letting its headphones reveal new notes and details even in songs that the user has heard hundreds of times. The Hemp Headphone is a slow burn, getting better and better with each listen.
As John Grado indicates, the acoustic image of the GRADO THE HEMP is more "stable and solid", while the bass response is "direct and with more impact" while the treble is smooth and detailed.
