The reference central speaker of the Sonetto range is based on a sophisticated 3-way, 5-speaker system that reproduces the dialogues of film soundtracks with extraordinary transparency and realism in all types of rooms. On the other hand, the reflex loading of the subwoofers through four ports located on the rear panel of the enclosure provides the user, in combination with the dedicated base, great installation flexibility both acoustically and aesthetically. More interesting is, as a consequence of its pioneering use in a speaker at this price level, the presence of the so-called “Voice of Sonus Faber”. A concept that at an engineering level is materialized in the combination of a 29 mm diameter silk dome tweeter with DAD (“Damped Apex Dome”) technology and two 150 mm midrange speakers with a cone composed of a special natural fiber. . For their part, the two woofers use 150 mm diameter aluminum diaphragms to maximize linearity and dynamics, while extending the frequency response curve up to 42 Hz. The management of all these custom-made transducers is in charge another “classic” from Sonus Faber: a frequency divider filter with an anti-resonant design with optimized amplitude and phase response, Paracross circuit topology and impedance compensation in the low frequencies (to facilitate the work of the attack amplifier).
