Concerto Audio, in addition to a loudspeaker and audiovisual equipment store, we are Installers. We can help you with the design and set-up of your equipment in your home. On this occasion, we share with you our work installing a home movie theater that has nothing to envy to commercial theaters. The room has approximately 50m2, two rows of sofas and capacity for 8 people.

We were starting from scratch in this room and recommended that it be painted a dark color. Since it is a dedicated movie theater with no other purpose, this avoids light reflections and glare that could affect viewing.
With the installation of perimeter RGB LED strips, it is possible to leave the room in total darkness or have the light dimmed to the desired level, being able to move around the room without the risk of falling or disturbing the image quality.
The center and front speakers have been placed around the fixed screen, in an area where they are not a hindrance for daily use. The Atmos speakers have been embedded in the ceiling and the rear ones placed on the wall to achieve a pleasant and clean environment.
Acoustic treatment
In this sound system, for now, the inclusion of one or two independent 15” subwoofers has been dispensed with, since the front columns have their respective integrated 10” subwoofers. If preferred, they can be added later.
Due to this decision, the installation of low-frequency absorbers has been dispensed with as they are not necessary.
However, to optimize the midrange and treble frequencies, the room has been treated with pyramidal foam panels with a diffusing and absorbing function at the lateral points of reflection. Together with the effect of the soft sofas on the sound, a neutral acoustic is achieved, without shrillness. In addition, the dialogues are heard clearly, without saturating the action scenes.
Electronics apart
This movie theater has an adjoining technical room where a rack for the electronics of the 7.2.4 multichannel system has been installed: the Marantz SR7015. This device offers everything you need to enjoy a high-quality cinema: surround sound with 4 atmos speakers on the ceiling, enough power to not need auxiliary stages, splendid connectivity and easy control via app.
The main sources of this equipment are the latest generation game consoles (Sony PlayStation 5) and the Apple TV receiver. Both sources fully support 4K picture and Dolby Atmos multi-channel surround sound. This ensures playback of the highest quality.
With all this, this installation has resulted in a home cinema room that has nothing to envy to the commercial ones. Whether for video games, series, movies or sports, concerts and any audiovisual content.
