A revolutionary tube output separator stage that marks the return of a product concept that first saw the light of day with the revered X10D, developed by Antony Michaelson, founder of Musical Fidelity.
Connected between the input source (not valid for phono) and the amplifier, the X-Tube extends the audio signal chain acting as an intermediate stage to improve the quality of the audio signal and add the characteristic vacuum tube tonality and dynamics to existing line sources in the vacuum tube, such as optical disc players, DAC's, network music players and even preamplifiers.
To achieve this goal, a configuration based on two dual E88CC (also known as 6922) triodes is used in an innovative way, by processing the entire audio signal single-ended, a topology which, properly implemented, allows to exhibit superior transient response and therefore handle rapid changes in volume level with minimal distortion.
The X-Tube, whose main chassis consists of one piece of extruded aluminium, is completed by a brushed aluminium front panel and practical connectivity.
