According to EAT founder and CEO Jozefina Lichtenegger, "Jo N°8 was created by the demand to go one step further, following the success of Jo N°5. Customers and distributors agreed that the design was a "Obvious candidate for more exclusive components, an even more careful level of selection and a superlative, but inevitably more expensive and exclusive, precision body. We knew that this recipe would result in a wonderful-sounding transducer."
The use of the word "transducer" is the key to understanding the demands of the design criteria, with the recognition that a capsule is just such a device: an electromechanical transducer that converts mechanical information into an electrical signal, functioning exactly the opposite of a speaker. This conversion is, in the opinion of EAT , the most critical element of an audio chain because any distortion or non-linearity in the amplification is ten times less than that produced in the speakers or through the cartridge.
For the discerning listener, any increased investment in a fine cartridge is worth it. Benefits include reducing distortion to a minimum and achieving a perfectly flat frequency response. Achieving both is extremely demanding and requires the utmost attention to detail, supported by the use of the highest quality materials.
But that is not enough: the designer must understand how to apply them in combination: the needle, the cantilever, the bearing, the suspension, the motor and, finally, the body shell, working in perfect harmony. To elevate the already exceptional performance of the N°5, EAT has employed for the N°8 a bare Shibata stylus on a boron cantilever, housed in a solid chestnut matte finished wood body. The Jo N°8 moving coil cartridge fits perfectly with the new F-Note tonearm, pulling more out of the groove than we could imagine.

Perfect, excellent service, I received it from the store because I am from Greece.
Great service and advice from the team. I upgraded my floor standing speakers and got very useful advice from Concerto Audio. Plus the speakers arrived within 24 hours too! Oh, and the speakers sound even better in my home. Well done, excellent.
I haven't bought from a proper hifi shop in many years. Decided I wanted a birthday present and so ended up in Concerto. A very pleasing experience. Excellent customer service from the young lady. Very happy with my purchase. I will return.
Great store. They have some great products for hifi lovers at very competitive prices. Wonderful attitude by the people who work there. I was able to do some A/B testing with different equipment and hook up my own DAC in their listening room. I am...
