A vinyl player that is visually different, unique, thanks to the unique personality provided by the unmistakable aesthetics McIntosh of its front and top panels, in which the exclusive treated glass of the New York firm is combined with one of its equally exclusive blue-backed analogue vumeters. An aesthetic uniqueness that is accompanied by a powerful technological uniqueness to create a "plug & play" turntable of true reference. "Plug & play" because the McIntosh MT10 is supplied as standard with the support force, the anti-slip force and the position of the pick-up cartridge carefully adjusted in the factory, thus minimising the configuration work to be carried out by the user.
In terms of engineering, the base of the MT10 consists of a highly absorbent sandwich structure of stainless steel and methacrylate, which provides a vibration-free foundation for the reading arm. An opulent 5.4 kilogramme, 6.35 centimetre-thick methacrylate plate rotates around an air cushion thanks to a sophisticated magnetic suspension system, while the belt drive is provided by an ultra-quiet Swiss DC motor with a regulated power supply.
The MT10 also features a new, extremely precise electronic speed control - 33, 45 and 78 rpm - with front-panel adjustments, which references the rotational speed by comparing it to 1,595 strobe marks for each turn of the disc. The McIntosh is completed by a custom-made, high-rigidity readout arm and a low-output moving coil (MC) capsule with ebony body and elliptical needle.
