A true reference analogue source and belt-driven, the Fortissimo is a turntable equipped with EAT's most innovative technical refinements, providing demanding enthusiasts with a totally neutral platform for listening to vinyl records. The first of these refinements is the incorporation of 12 brass inlays in the upper part of the turntable (400 mm diameter and weighing 22 kg!) and 1 in the lower part, in order to add mass and improve rotational stability. It is a two-part system, the first using a soft alloy and the second a harder alloy that reduces energy flow. The assembly is completed with Sorbothane absorbing elements strategically arranged to eliminate any possible resonance. On the other hand, the plate is magnetically suspended via small neodymium magnets arranged in such a way as to eliminate any possible magnetic influence on the pick-up capsule. The second important engineering element of the Fortissimo is the pivot system, which is mounted in a chrome block and combines an inverted bearing with an oversized shaft in order to handle more energy and dampen the entire system more effectively. The new EAT turntable's new spinning system also features the use of a ceramic bearing due to its extreme hardness and inert character. The third key component of the Fortissimo is the high-mass, fully decoupled motor, separate from the main block, which uses sophisticated electronic circuitry to create an AC signal completely free of impurities, all in the context of a design that allows the motor's energy to be absorbed by a sandwich structure of metal and MDF.
