Due to the high voltage requirements of xMEMS, iFi has partnered with them to integrate this technology into the new Diablo 2. It uses the piezoelectric effect to create paper-thin solid-state drivers by converting electrical energy into mechanical energy by exciting an integrated silicon.
having trouble with your power-hungry headphones? Press the NOS button and our Diablo goes into beast mode. The Diablo 2 offers three power modes: Normal for iEM, Turbo for medium sensitivity headphones and Nitro for demanding headphones, with a maximum output of 19.2V.
A switch underneath activates iFi's iEMatch technology. This feature is designed for high-sensitivity headphones and earphones, which greatly benefits your internal monitors (IEM). It eliminates background noise and increases the usable volume range. The Diablo 2 fits a wide range of headphones, from IEMs to power-demanding supra-aural headphones.
It features a single-ended 6.3 mm headphone jack and a balanced 4.4 mm output. In addition, a 3.5mm to 6.35mm adapter is included for versatile connectivity.
Diablo 2 features the latest Bluetooth 5.4 technology, compatible with the new aptX Lossless codec, which provides a maximum bit rate of 1200 kbps. In comparison, aptX Adaptive has a maximum bit rate of 420 kbps, while LDAC offers a higher bit rate of 990 kbps. The Diablo 2 used Qualcomm's new QCC518x Bluetooth audio chip, is Bluetooth 5.4 qualified and supports all* Bluetooth formats including: aptX Lossless, aptX Adaptive, aptX, LDAC, LHDC/HWA, AAC and SBC.
The Dual Core Burr Brown chipset provides Bit-Perfect DSD and PCM support at sample rates up to 768 kHz, DSD512 and Full MQA decoding. Although Spotify is moving towards Lossless, don't be left behind.
The Diablo 2 comes with four wings that you can customise to position it horizontally, like a desktop DAC/amplifier, or vertically to save space. In addition, it features twenty-two rails for improved cooling performance, and eight of these rails are compatible with Diablo wings, allowing the use of desktop support.
When examining the front panel of the Diablo 2, you'll find a new volume lock switch next to the volume control, which prevents accidental adjustments during transport. On the left side of the rear panel, there is a switch for mode selection and Bluetooth pairing. On the right side, two USB-C ports streamline cable management: one for audio and one for charging.
Diablo 2 features PureWave, Servoless DirectDrive, OptimaLoop and advanced jitter reduction technology, which deliver exceptionally pure, detailed and emotionally moving sound; these technologies elevate performance to unparalleled heights, even challenging desktop DACs/amplifiers.
PureWave's fully balanced dual mono circuitry elevates clarity by separating channels and reducing noise. DirectDrive eliminates the need for capacitor coupling, ensuring purer audio.
OptimaLoop employs multiple custom feedback paths in amplifiers, refining gain control and reducing distortion. The enhanced GMT femtoprecision clock with intelligent storage cache minimises phase noise for a cleaner sound.
These wire-free front-end resistors with metal electrodes have excellent accuracy, stability, reliability and pulse-loading capability. They provide optimum power rating and pulse-loading capability. They exhibit some of the lowest noise and distortion of any resistor available on the market, full stop.
Panasonic's OS-CON caps with a total of 5410 uF provide very low equivalent series resistance (ESR), excellent noise reduction capability and frequency response characteristics. In addition, OS-CONs have a long lifetime and their ESR changes little even at low temperatures, as the electrolyte is solid.
Texas Instruments' low-noise ICs offer high unity-gain bandwidth, very low noise and distortion, high output unity capability, power supply and common-mode rejection ratios of over 100 dB, wide maximum output swing bandwidths, and high response rates.
High Q, low ESR, multi-layer capacitors, muRata control type. The "ESR control" aspect of the Murata is something special. Its noise suppression capabilities are impressive.
