STAX is a company founded in 1938. In 1959 it developed the world's first electrostatic headphone and introduced the SR-1 in 1960. Today, STAX continues its legacy by offering the most sophisticated headphones for both professional and audiophile use.
STAX calls its headphones Earspeakers. They are so named because of their Ultra Hi-Fi music reproduction, which can only be compared to the quality of loudspeakers, rather than other headphones.
Once you get into the world of electrostatics, few turn back.
The entire semiconductor transistor unit is dual low-noise FET in the first stage and, for the first time in STAX, the second stage features J-FET. The J-FET output is perfect for noise-free amplification and features a large current circuit that allows the headphones to perform at their best.
