This attractive two-way, two-speaker monitor is the only bookshelf loudspeaker in a series that adopts the values that inspired its celebrated predecessor - the Olympica - while adding a spectacular amount of state-of-the-art technological developments.
Thus, the panels used in the Olympica Nova I are made of eight layers of bent and pressed wood that provide extreme rigidity to the enclosure, with carefully placed structural ribs used as bracing to reduce vibration and handle the full acoustic power generated by the movement of the loudspeakers.
The front panel is made of hand-finished natural wood to enhance the entire enclosure, with real leather cladding also applied around the tweeters and mid/bass speakers. In addition, the exterior of the unique Stealth Ultraflex bass-reflex port, characterised by extremely low turbulence, is made from a solid block of extruded aluminium.
In terms of the electro-acoustic technology employed, the Olympica Nova I is fitted with a silk dome tweeter with the Italian company's DAD (Damped Apex Dome) technology, accompanied by a mid/bass speaker derived from the one used in the Homage Tradition collection, with several significant changes having been made to them. In the case of the midwoofer, it features a cone that benefits from a sophisticated sandwich structure in which two sheets of cellulose pulp flank a state-of-the-art syntactic foam core.
A frequency divider filter based on Sonus Faber 's unique "Paracross Topology" is responsible for the management of this loudspeaker assembly, which substantially reduces the sensitivity to radio frequency interference, improving the response to transients and reducing background noise. Finally, the Olympica Nova I is finished off with aluminium elements and can be completed with the elegant, custom-made metal Nova Stand.
