A genuine McIntosh aesthetic, presided over by two of the American brand's emblematic treated glass panels, is the prelude to the MT5, an exclusive "plug & play" turntable of true reference. "Plug & play" because it is supplied as standard with the bearing force, anti-slip force and pick-up cartridge position carefully set at the factory, thus minimising the configuration work required by the user.
In terms of engineering, the base of the MT5 consists of a stainless steel structure that provides a vibration-free foundation for the reading arm. An opulent perspex platter rotates around an air cushion thanks to a sophisticated magnetic suspension system, while the belt drive is provided by an ultra-quiet DC motor.
The MT5 also incorporates a new electronic speed control - 33, 45 and the McIntosh, which supports rotational speeds of 33, 45 and 78 rpm, is completed by a custom-made high-rigidity readout arm and a high-output moving coil (MC) capsule with ebony body and elliptical stylus.
