Based, like the monumental MC2KW, on McIntosh's unique Quad Balanced architecture, the MC1.25KW transistor monophonic power amplifier is one of the most advanced and unique amplifiers on the world market.
Completely redesigned from the venerable MC1.2KW, the MC1.25KW is the most unique single-chassis monophonic power amplifier - at almost 72 kilograms in weight it speaks loud and clear - from McIntosh. Thanks to the US company's unique Autoformer technology, it delivers a total of 1,200 watts continuous into 8, 4 or 2 ohm loads with virtually negligible distortion, while the introduction of such significant improvements over its predecessor as a 50% increase in filtering capacity allows it to exhibit dazzling records in parameters such as low end reproduction and dynamic range.
In terms of industrial design, the MC1.25KW features the Autoformer and power transformer just behind the front panel (as has been the norm at McIntosh for decades), but mounted in newly designed enclosures with a glass top panel to enhance the overall beauty of the package.
Another key element of the MC1.25KW's exterior is the four exclusive McIntosh Monogrammed Heatsinks, made of high quality materials and selected for their exceptional thermal conductivity. Connected to sophisticated high-current output transistors that eliminate the waiting time to reach thermal equilibrium, these heatsinks are covered with aluminium ventilation trim plates that match the aluminium trim ring on the top panel.
The MC1.25KW also features the effective Power Guard system to prevent possible audio clipping/crossover from damaging the loudspeakers in the cabinet, as well as Sentry Monitor, an extremely fast protection circuit that disables the output stage to prevent current from exceeding safe operating limits.
As is the tradition at McIntosh, the MC1.25KW is crowned by the unmistakable treated glass front panel and one of the brand's legendary blue-backed analogue vumeters.

Great place to find audio equipment. Hours may be limited, but staff is friendly and accommodating. Will happily do more business with them.
Perfect, excellent service, I received it from the store because I am from Greece.
I haven't bought from a proper hifi shop in many years. Decided I wanted a birthday present and so ended up in Concerto. A very pleasing experience. Excellent customer service from the young lady. Very happy with my purchase. I will return.
Great store. They have some great products for hifi lovers at very competitive prices. Wonderful attitude by the people who work there. I was able to do some A/B testing with different equipment and hook up my own DAC in their listening room. I am...
