The MC312 is a state-of-the-art transistorised stereo power amplifier that improves on its predecessor in many critical parameters as a result of substantial technical improvements. The most notable of these improvements is undoubtedly the almost 100% increase in filtering capacity, which in turn has substantially increased the overall dynamic range and made the MC312 an extraordinarily agile power amplifier with almost no distortion and a spectacular bass response.
Aesthetically, the MC312 retains all the iconic elements of the McIntosh amplifiers with the addition of some subtle modern touches. The front panel uses LED backlighting to enhance both appearance and colour accuracy, while two of McIntosh 's iconic Autoformer transformers and an opulent power transformer (all mounted in dedicated glass-top enclosures) ensure that performance is maintained at any volume level.
The MC312 also features two of McIntosh 's exclusive Monogrammed Heatsinks to maximise the thermal stability of the advanced high-current, high-response-speed transistors in its output section, along with two iconic elements from the US firm: the treated glass front panel and two stylish blue-backed analogue vumeters.
