Top model of the OM 5 Series, converted into the starting point of the vast catalog of the prestigious Scandinavian brand, the Super OM 5E incorporates distinctive engineering elements aimed at maximizing its flexibility of use, such as a body designed to facilitate assembly and adjustment to both top and bottom mount headshell holders. Thus, a small plate has been included on the top of the mounting bracket to add weight, intended to facilitate integration into all types of low mass tonearms (the plate will be left in place if a standard mass arm is used and it will be removed if we use one with low mass).
On the other hand, being compatible with various replacement needles, the Super OM 5E is ready to become the perfect complement for all types of home audio systems, applications and budgets. As far as technical solutions are concerned, we must especially highlight the use, in the body of the Super OM 5E, of Noryl, an extremely light plastic and glass compound that ensures high rigidity and immunity against resonances.
Added to this is a magnetic motor equipped with Ortofon 's iconic separated polar pins, a development that allows moving magnet cartridges to exhibit a frequency response curve as flat as moving coil (MC) cartridges. As far as the needle is concerned, the Super OM 5E uses an elliptical profile that allows it to read the grooves of the vinyl with greater precision and less distortion as a result of its contoured shape.
