MC Mono Capsule
Specifically designed for the reproduction of monophonic recordings, the MC A Mono is a sophisticated moving-coil pick-up capsule with a genuine monophonic design, featuring the most elaborate technical solutions available at Ortofon. Thus, the body is constructed entirely of titanium using the aforementioned "Selective Laser Melting", which allows the welding of fine titanium particles layer by layer and thus precise control of the density of the capsule body, in order to obtain an exceptionally high level of internal damping and more effectively eliminate possible vibrations.
The second significant element of the MC A Mono is the use of windings with Accurum (gold-plated, very high purity oxygen-free copper) windings and a boron cantilever, a combination that provides a unique combination of low moving mass and high stiffness. The MC A Mono also features the use of a unique thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) to protect the windings of the coils, which also contributes to the overall damping level of the assembly.
As for the magnet motor, a powerful neodymium magnet minimises the size and weight of the signal generation system, and the unique Field Stabilizing Element from Ortofon is designed to suppress any trace of potential magnetic influences. The MC A Mono is completed by one of Ortofon 's unique Replicant 100 diamond tips and the Scandinavian firm's sophisticated Wide Range Damping system to completely eliminate unwanted resonances.
