Invisible loudspeaker
The flagship of JBL's Conceal range of "invisible" loudspeakers, the Conceal C86 is a sophisticated, high-performance loudspeaker system for custom installations, consisting of two separate blocks or panels.
Each panel includes a high rigidity frame in which the loudspeakers and acoustical components normally found in a conventional in-wall or in-ceiling loudspeaker enclosure are mounted. The frame attaches directly to the wall/ceiling structure, while the front of each speaker - a JBL-exclusive FidelityGlass panel with a compression-moulded baffle foundation - incorporates a smooth, robust surface that has been designed to be finished in a manner similar to the surrounding environment.
The smallest block of the Conceal C86 contains five drivers - four midrange and one treble - that work in tandem with the acoustic panel to reproduce the mid and high frequency ranges of the spectrum, while the largest block houses a 203 mm diameter woofer that works in tandem with its own panel to provide impressive bass.
The use of separate panels allows for the elimination of potential interference between high and low frequencies - a parasite known as intermodulation distortion - and maximises sound transparency and definition in all types of rooms and applications.
