As befits a product from McIntosh, the RS250 is engineered to live up to the brand's reputation, starting with a highly refined audio section. Specifically, it combines 650 watts of amplification with two 102x152 mm bottom-emission woofers mounted in a dedicated enclosure and a front-end system consisting of four 51 mm inverted titanium dome midrange speakers and two 19 mm titanium dome tweeters, plus a control for fine-tuning the bass response and a dedicated socket for connecting an external subwoofer. In terms of Bluetooth audio streaming, it should be noted that the RS250 uses Bluetooth version 5.0 to ensure compatibility with both the high bit rate AAC bitstreaming system and the superior Qualcomm aptX HD, the latter of which is specifically intended for Hi-Res music listening.
