A full-featured digital stereo source for the most demanding listeners, thanks to an exquisite combination of technology and build quality that draws on McIntosh 's unique experience in the exceptional home audio market.
Compatible with CD's, SACD's, data DVD's and digital files stored on USB sticks, the MCD600 incorporates sophisticated digital circuitry featuring an audiophile-grade D/A conversion chip with 32-bit technology, whose 8 channels have been configured in the unique Quad Balanced architecture to maximise parameters such as frequency response curve linearity, signal-to-noise ratio, channel separation and dynamic range, while minimising distortion.
The MCD600 can also play digital files encoded in popular formats such as AAC, AIFF, ALAC, DSD (up to DSD128), FLAC, MP3, WAV (up to 24-bit/192kHz) and WMA, while featuring coaxial and optical digital inputs and outputs, a front USB input and fixed and variable level analogue outputs, the latter in both balanced and unbalanced modes.
Another key element of this refined digital stereo source is its transport mechanics, featuring the use of a high-precision die-cast aluminium platter which, in combination with an advanced digital servo control, ensures extremely fast and quiet operation. In addition, the data contained on the disc is read at twice the normal speed in order to improve data tracking and error correction.
The MCD600 comes complete with one of McIntosh's unique, versatile dedicated High Drive headphone amplifiers, one of the US firm's iconic treated glass front panels and a construction of the highest level.
