Positioned between the 6000 and 9000, the 7000 merges premium features into a price category that follows the mantra of class-leading performance.
Outwardly similar to the sequential series and therefore offering a visual aesthetic combination of the entire brand, the audiolab 7000CDT improves on the 6000CDT with a new mechanism, USB hard drive playback and a new full-color IPS LCD screen. More compact than the 9000 series and perfectly matched to the 6000 and 8300 series, it maintains sharp ergonomics, high-quality engineering and excellent overall performance.
The 7000CDT uses a high-precision optical system with an electronic data buffer for perfect and accurate CD playback. Using very similar technology to the 9000CDT, the 7000CDT uses a digital read-ahead buffer to reduce disc read failures, helping to play scratched and damaged CDs that may be unreadable with conventional mechanisms.
To ensure a perfect signal reaches the accompanying DAC, the 7000CDT's coaxial output is fed from a differential line driver. The master clock is controlled by a high-precision crystal oscillator, allowing the digital output from the coaxial and optical jacks to exhibit extremely low jitter (digital distortion) levels.
The 7000CDT's low-friction cargo tray, sturdy aluminum base and chassis work to address the vibrations experienced due to the mechanics of a high-spinning motor. Additionally, the transport is mounted in its own electromagnetically shielded enclosure with a dedicated power supply. All of this contributes to exemplary digital signal extraction, while proven resonance reduction further improves performance and aftereffect in signal chains and auxiliary Hi-Fi equipment.
In addition to its class-leading CD playback design, the 7000CDT also offers compatible digital music files via a dedicated USB "Type A" connection, on the back of the unit. All significant high-resolution and lossless audio formats are supported, including WAV, AAC and WMA, as well as compressed legacy MP3 formats.
