Stereo amplifier with DAC

This is a stereo integrated amplifier with DAC inspired by the QUAD 22 preamplifier and whose aesthetics are clearly reminiscent of the celebrated updates of the 33 and 303 models of the legendary British company.

The beautiful electronics feature the iconic orange backlit LCD function display of the 33, which allows the user to intuitively control the different settings, parameters, options and source selections, all of which are visibly represented.

But these electronics go far beyond maintaining a legacy of timelessness that few other brands can match, including uncompromising connectivity for the modern audiophile. In keeping with QUAD's purist reputation, the 3 is equipped with circuitry that harmonises topologies and components of the highest standard.

On the digital side, we find an ESS9038Q2M D/A converter from California-based ESS Technology followed by a Class A configured circuit, while the critical analogue section features a power supply block centred around a generously shielded toroidal transformer, to which is added a bank of capacitors totalling a capacity of 30,000 uF.

Featuring a 2-way/2-speaker bass-reflex configuration, the Lumina II is the second bookshelf loudspeaker in the Lumina "collection".

Very similar to the Lumina I, it features a larger cabinet volume and the use of a 150 mm diameter midwoofer, while maintaining a compact and versatile design that is ideal for easy installation inside a bookcase or on a bookshelf, and can also be placed on a floor stand to reproduce the effects channels of a home theatre system.

As a member of the Lumina range, the Lumina II harmoniously combines luxury in materials and construction, minimalism in design and extreme naturalness in sound, complemented by a splendid versatility that allows it to perform at its best in the reproduction of both music and film soundtracks.

From an electro-acoustic point of view, the Lumina II includes one of the iconic hand-coated silk dome tweeters D.A.D. (Damped Apex Dome) used in the Sonetto range of Sonus Faber and a midwoofer equipped with a multi-fibre cone, the whole being managed by a frequency divider filter with optimised amplitude and phase response curve executed with audiophile-grade components.
