The Dali Katch One is a sound bar that aims to convince in terms of both sound and appearance. With ten built-in speakers and four 50-watt amplifiers, the Dali Sound Bar is capable of filling large rooms with music and cinema.
The most important connection type for the Dali Katch One is its HDMI input. This comes with an audio return channel, or ARC for short, which allows a 1-cable connection to Smart-TV. No additional cable is needed to transmit stereo PCM audio signals. In addition, the HDMI connection also supports the "Consumer Electronics Control" (CEC) standard, whereby the TV remote control simultaneously handles volume, muting and soundbar activation.
If the Smart TV does not have an HDMI connection, the optical TV input is an alternative. The Dali Katch One is automatically switched on by a light signal as soon as the TV emits a sound. The Dali Sound Bar can also be controlled with the supplied remote control. A second optical digital input is reserved for audio signals, such as a CD player or a network streamer. Even if the devices are still emitting a light signal in standby mode, the Dali Katch One extracts the audio signal and intelligently switches on and off.
Those who like to keep their home cinema free of cables and have a TV with Bluetooth output can be happy: The Dali Katch One is also a Bluetooth speaker and connects wirelessly to TVs, smartphones, tablets and computers. The AAC and Bluetooth aptX protocols are supported for optimal signal transmission. In addition, a USB port enables extension with a Google Chromecast Audio and brings the Dali soundbar directly into the home network. The connection is primarily intended for future firmware updates. Playback of music on a USB stick does not work. In addition, the connection panel offers a sub-output connection to complement the soundbar with a subwoofer.
Once connected, the Dali Katch One sends all bass tones directly to the subwoofer thanks to a digital signal processor. The soundbar then takes over the remaining frequency range and can choose between directional or wider sound radiation. In addition to a pre-mounted wall bracket at the rear, the Katch One offers an additional top-hung option and two feet for easy installation.
