The replacement for the MC2KW, introduced at the 2005 Las Vegas CES, the MC2.1KW monophonic power amplifier is a genuine product of passion and the pursuit of perfection, drawing on a unique three quarters of a century of experience in the design of exceptional audio components. The aim?to deliver unique performance in a product that is unmatched in the world market.

The MC2.1KW exhibits a unique configuration in that it consists of three separate chassis in order to deliver a continuous 2,000 watts of virtually distortion-free power over 8, 4 or 2 ohm loads. Specifically, there is one Output Module and two Power Modules, each housing 1,000 watts of continuous amplifier electronics. Why three modules instead of one? The creators of these spectacular electronics give two compelling reasons, the first being practical, as each module weighs about 54 kilos. The second is more technical, in that the use of a single block would require an industrial power socket with special wiring.

The MC2.1KW incorporates a veritable army of technical innovations over its predecessor, most notably the use of significantly larger filter capacitors in the Power Modules just behind the dedicated Power Bank to improve bass response and dynamic range.

This sensational power amplifier is completed by a mechanical construction of the highest standard and a unique aesthetic that is topped off, albeit only for the first 75 pairs sold in each of the countries where McIntosh is present, by elegant badges paying tribute to the 75th anniversary of the brand.
