Prestige X is the latest version of the renowned Grado Prestige range of headphones. It has a new 38 ohm driver that achieves an even more rounded sound, designed specifically for the most current version of the Grado Labs entry range.
The X Series' improved speaker design features a new magnetic circuit that has been optimized to improve overall efficiency. Together with a new design of its voice coil and diaphragm, distortion is reduced to a minimum while its harmonic integrity is enhanced. As a result, the new Prestige Series is easier to move around portable devices and delivers the best possible audio quality.
GRADO Labs has developed its proprietary SpaceBlack Polycarbonate that absorbs unwanted acoustic vibrations. Those secondary impulses can muddy the sound, and Brooklynites are looking for pure sound in their input headphones as well. The SR125x use an ultra-high purity long crystal oxygen-free copper voice coil and 8-conductor cable.
Put on the SR125x if you want space, a silent background, black aesthetics and the only “clumsy” thing you want close to your ear is the artist Muddy Waters.
Additionally, they have been equipped with an 8-conductor fabric-covered copper cable. This preserves signal purity while giving the cable durability and flexibility, as well as being tangle-free. Another optimization has been made to the headband, which is now covered with vegan protein that feels similar to leather, and is so resistant that it will not be affected by contact with hair products, such as waxes or hair gels.
