An exquisite, ultra-compact vacuum tube-based headphone amplifier that brings the best traditions of McIntosh to intimate music listening.
Two dual 12AT7 triodes amplify the incoming signal, while two 12BH7As deliver the power needed to attack all types of headphones with minimal distortion, all complemented by McIntosh's iconic Unity Copuled Circuit technology, used in the brand's first commercially available amplifier (in 1949!) and still present in such iconic achievements as the timeless MC275 power amplifier.
For the MHA200, the Unity Coupled Circuit transformers have been adapted to deliver the full amplifier power available at four headphone impedance ranges: 32-100 ohms, 100-250 ohms, 250-600 ohms and 600-1,000 ohms.
Another key engineering element of this outstanding headphone amplifier is that the aforementioned output transformers (custom designed and built to perfectly match the tube amplifier section of the MHA200) are complemented by a highly efficient and extremely quiet toroidal power supply.
The MHA200 comes complete with three headphone connectivity options: two 3-pin XLR connectors for left/right balanced output, a 4-pin balanced stereo connector and a 6'3 mm stereo connector.
