Kore is the new top of the range loudspeaker from the Danish company DALI, presented at the Munich High-End 2022.
These loudspeakers are absolute reference loudspeakers in the highest European style and incorporate a whole new generation of technology created by DALI's top engineers.
With DALI KORE comes the evolution of the SMC technology with which DALI revolutionised the market years ago, developing the greatest technological innovation in loudspeakers in decades. SMC (Soft Magnetic Compound) has low electrical conductivity and high magnetic conductivity. This makes it perform much better than iron, typically used in loudspeaker magnet systems, which has both values high and succumbs to hysteresis-related sound disturbances. With KORE comes the 2nd generation of this technology with SMC Balanced Drivers. DALI SMC Balanced Drivers feature dual voice coils that reduce any possible signal loss and distortion. In addition, the woofers are equipped with DALI's iconic maroon wood fibre cone.
DALI's hybrid tweeter module has also been a milestone in loudspeaker innovation. Bringing together the higher frequency capability of the soft dome tweeter and the dispersion capability of the ribbon tweeter, the hybrid tweeter module was created and for the KORE loudspeaker it has evolved into its 2nd Generation: the DALI Evo-K.
The dome tweeter is 35mm and manufactured by DALI itself, while the ribbon tweeter has also been redesigned. This upgrade further improves integration with the woofers, reducing distortion to marginal levels.
When creating an acoustic enclosure for a flagship loudspeaker, there are two technical keys: that it offers good loudness but no resonance, and that it provides firm support for the drivers. While with Epicon DALI has already dispensed with parallel surfaces altogether to enhance the loudness of the range while avoiding resonance, with KORE it has taken the curved design even further.
The use of machined aluminium and high-end materials has also provided a rigid support for the drivers, allowing them to sound powerful without disturbing the sound.
Aesthetics cannot be neglected in a luxury loudspeaker either, and KORE flaunts the high standard of its materials without any qualms. Its Amara Ebony varnish gives it a distinctive and luxurious pattern, while the black and gold details on the aluminium shade it together with the iconic maroon of the DALI wood fibre cones.
So much technology and power could not be packed into a small chassis. This column has a height of more than 1.70 m including the decoupling spikes and weighs 110 kg per loudspeaker.
To decouple them from the floor they have their own 34 kg concrete plinth base, which allows them to play with full power without resonance or disturbance.
