Assembled in-house, each driver in every RUBICON model is configured to match the model for which it is intended. The three 6 ½-inch drivers used in the RUBICON 8 work together to reproduce a clean, detailed sound without colouration.
The RUBICON series builds on the heritage of the SMC-based linear drive system introduced with the EPICON series. With the use of SMC driver technology, they have gone a step further to eliminate much of the unwanted distortion.
The bass is optimised for long excursion, and the midrange driver for a wide range of useful frequencies ensuring that roll-off is handled in the interconnect and not in the driver. Dali uses both the soft dome tweeter working alone and the hybrid tweeter configuration. Obtaining an incredible representation of the high frequencies. The cone used in the RUBICON series is designed to be very light and agile in order to achieve a wider bandwidth. This cone is placed inside a powerful ferrite magnet that maintains tight control over its movements.
The ribbon tweeter controls the wide dispersion and in combination with the soft dome, the tweeter module starts working as low as 2.5 KHz. This extreme bandwidth combined with the ultra-wide dispersion is an important part of the Dali sound philosophy.
