A real milestone in the history of one of the brands most closely associated with the legendary "British sound": Musical Fidelity. This is how its creators define the new M6x DAC digital audio processor, as a result of the concentration of technical refinements it contains, from a new D/A conversion circuitry with Double Differential Mode architecture to the innovative Super Silent power transformer, as well as substantial improvements in firmware and the increasingly attractive Roon Tested approval or compatibility with MQA or DSD files.
Looking further into the details of the Musical Fidelity system, the first highlight is the use of the new ES9038Q2M D/A conversion chip, which is integrated in ESS Technology's prestigious Sabre range. Specifically, two units of the same chip are used, mounted in double differential mode, in order to achieve the performance of a pure monophonic double design, a performance that is reinforced by the presence of a scheme exclusive to the Californian firm: the Time Domain Jitter Eliminator.
In addition, both the unbalanced outputs with RCA connectors and their balanced counterparts with XLR connectors incorporate their own separator stage to maximise sonic performance through a combination of extremely low noise, high output amplitude and high current handling capability.
The M6x DAC also includes newly designed digital filters, a dedicated printed circuit board and a powerful headphone amplifier with Class AB operation and power supply topology.
