The Stage 240B, designed at JBL's renowned Acoustical Engineering Center of Excellence in Northridge, California, USA, is the smallest bookshelf speaker in the JBL Stage series. It provides impressive performance with its small size. The 240Bs are versatile enough to be used as main or surround speakers.
This speaker features 2-way next-generation patented High-Definition Imaging (HDI) waveguide geometry, 25mm anodized aluminum dome tweeter and 114mm polycellulose fluted cone driver for deep bass and worthy of JBL.
Each Stage 2 Series speaker features polycellulose fluted cone drivers. The pure pulp cone has a proprietary blend of other materials added to improve its rigidity, and the ribbed details are reminiscent of legendary JBL designs. These speakers produce deep, accurate bass that fills the entire space.
After extensive study of previous waveguide designs, JBL has developed a complex new geometry that improves directivity, reduced diffraction, and an overall neutral frequency response both on and off-axis. The Stage 2 HDI is coupled with an anodized aluminum dome tweeter for improved efficiency and dynamics. This new design offers a neutral frequency response both on and off axis.
The crossover filters installed in the Stage 2 line are made with premium components. The high frequency section features air core inductors and mylar capacitors that reduce distortion and improve sonic performance. The low frequency section includes laminated core inductors and electrolytic capacitors. These premium materials can handle more power and transmit energy faster, boosting system performance.
