The elaborate construction of the platter also contributes to this, where an acoustically inert MDF sandwich structure minimizes, with the extra help of a thin layer of vinyl, possible colorations during the reading process.
As is the norm at Pro-Ject , this turntable uses belt drive via an alternating current motor excited by a direct current generator, the available speeds being 33 and 45 rpm, both electronically controlled. Regarding the rotation system, it includes an inverted bearing with a ceramic ball in order to guarantee a virtual absence of friction, while the reading arm, equipped with high-precision bearing rings (ABEC 7), is the advanced EVO 9 CC, designed and built entirely by Pro-Ject in its own facilities.
