The Thorens TD 1601 combines everything the TD 1600 brings with some additional features regarding comfort and connection to amplifiers. The classic wooden plinth, the two-part platter with inner strap and thick rubber mat, the powerful motor control unit, the arm board and the acrylic dust cover are expanded by balanced outputs and functions for easier handling. The conical springs for the sub chassis are no longer mounted on the top plate, but are placed on the side inferior.Ademurthermore, a small (but strongly tightened) steel thread connects the sub chassis with a steel pin at the bottom and prevents the sub chassis from wobbling and only allows movement vertical.Tambialso included are an electric lift and an automatic non-contact shutdown.XLR sockets provide a true balanced connection to amplifiers.
