An extremely versatile power amplifier, its eight amplifier channels can be used in a wide range of applications from distributed sound to home theatre and stereo. It delivers 120 W continuous into 8 ohms or 150 W continuous into 4 ohms, using highly efficient and sophisticated closed-loop digital switching technology, complemented by robust power supplies that guarantee very unusual performance in distributed sound.
Designed for rack mounting, the MI128 includes LED-based level indicators and push-button Phenix speaker connection terminals for easy installation in all types of spaces. The rear panel also features controls for volume level balancing, as well as two digital audio inputs - one coaxial and one optical - and the ability to mono-bridge all four groups of stereo channels.
Another important feature of the MI128 is the new Loudspeaker Guard overload protection technology from McIntosh, in addition to the US company's classic Sentry Monitor, which shuts down the output stage before the current exceeds safe operating limits. As a power amplifier for custom installations, the MI128 includes several options for external control, as well as a sensor for automatic on/off.
