With an architecture based exclusively on vacuum tubes, featuring a total absence of semiconductors in the audio signal path, the E-Glo F B adds two of the versatile ECC88 double triodes to its circuitry compared to the original model, in order to offer a fully balanced design and 100% balanced operation in all its amplification stages.
Moreover, the fact that the vacuum devices used are the popular ECC83 and ECC88 (4 units of each), guarantees the existence of spare parts and, for the most purist users, the possibility of trying premium versions of the same, such as those signed by EAT.
Needless to say, the above-mentioned valves are complemented by passive components of the highest quality: output capacitor and Mundorf connectors, Teflon insulation, polypropylene film capacitors (semi-crystalline hydrocarbon) in the audio path and in the passive equalisation circuit, and, very importantly, a Lundahl step-up transformer in the stage dedicated to the moving coil (MC) capsules.
Another significant new feature of the E-Glo F B is the balanced input with XLR connector for MC and MM capsules, which it incorporates for the purpose of transferring the advantages of a link type that minimises background noise and therefore maximises dynamics to the vinyl record reading environment.
