Grado has been exploiting the optimal acoustic properties of the best quality wood for a long time, it is a skill they have been developing for generations. The construction of the GS1000x goes further now that mahogany wood is combined with ipê wood, a tropical and durable wood.

The GS1000x are the first headphones to enjoy the 50mm X driver. Specifically connected to bring warmth through the mahogany wood. This new driver design features a more powerful magnetic circuit, a voice coil with effective mass reduction and diaphragm reconfiguration. The re-engineering of these components for the 50mm drivers improves efficiency, reduces distortion and preserves the harmonic integrity of the sound.
Along with the drivers, the cable and headband have been redesigned for the GS1000x. Protected with a more durable outer jacket, the 12-conductor pure copper cable extracts greater detail from music with improved purity. The new leather headband is characterized by white stitches.
