The Nyquist MkII is the first offspring of the nodular design of its predecessor, the celebrated Nyquist , with a completely revamped design to accommodate the latest digital audio formats, including MQA ("Master Quality Authenticated"), PCM up to 32-bit/384 kHz (including DXD) and native DSD up to DSD256. Furthermore, the use of a new high-voltage power supply, unique in a product of this class, allows substantial improvements in the performance of the digital circuitry. Unlike the original version of the Nyquist, where only one power regulation circuit benefited from this technology, in the "MkII" there are six regulation circuits that use it. The digital module of the new streamer from Brinkmann includes a completely updated power section, which incorporates 12 regulation circuits compared to 11 in its predecessor. In particular, the additional regulator further improves the decoupling between the DAC's sync clock and the rest of the circuitry, thereby reducing jitter, especially during USB and Ethernet playback. The result of the improvements incorporated in the MkII version of the Nyquist is seen in the form of even higher resolution, without any loss in the outstanding musicality that brought such success to the original model.
