Meze comes from the last name of its founder, Antonio Meze , who founded the brand in 2011 after discovering how difficult it was for him to find headphones that were so comfortable with his Fender Stratocaster. The year 2015 marked a turning point for them when they released the 99 Clasics headphones.

Even today its headphone and IEM models are developed by the brand itself from scratch, keeping the 99 Classics supraaurals as an example of its know-how.
