Endowed with a singular aesthetic and executed with exceptional precision in mechanical (the enclosure is made of stainless steel and aluminium) and electrical terms, the RA280 is a 100% analogue stereo integrated amplifier that draws from the innovative engineering solutions of the formidable RA180, recognised by world specialised critics as one of the achievements that have best combined analogue and digital technology to put it at the service of sound reproduction with capital letters.
Thus, it incorporates a power amplification section configured in the Asian company's exclusive Class AD, in which the use of state-of-the-art FET devices based on Gallium Nitride (GaN) stands out, combining the efficiency of Class D with the smoothness and warmth of a traditional analogue amplifier. In addition, another key subsystem is a power supply that uses Silicon Carbide Field Effect Transistors (FETs) instead of conventional silicon to increase efficiency and stability.
In this way, the RA280 is able to deliver high power output while minimising heat generation, regardless of the impedance value of the loudspeaker enclosures used. Equally refined is the phono section, compatible with moving magnet (MM) capsules and equipped with a sophisticated, highly accurate compensation circuit to minimise colouration.
