The RS520 is a refined stereo electronics system that combines preamplifier, networked music player (with associated DAC functionality) and power amplifier in a single chassis to offer the discerning music lover a very high-end proposition without the formal complications inherent in a system made up of separate components.
As is typical of the bulk of HiFi ROSE's output, the entire front panel is occupied by a 12.6" (320mm) 4K resolution LCD touchscreen display, which supports various configuration options depending on the functionality being used at any given time.
Inside the RS520 what we find is a display of cutting-edge technology materialised in the fusion of exclusive engineering solutions and premium components. Thus, in the DAC section we find an operational amplifier executed with discrete components developed by HiFi ROSE, with the aim of further reducing distortion and maximising the naturalness of the sound.
Another significant element of this superb all-in-one electronics is the Active Power Factor Correction (Active PFC) employed in the power supply, essential to ensure an extremely pure power supply to critical audio components.
As far as the amplifier section is concerned, the RS520 works, like the sensational RA180 stereo integrated amplifier, in the so-called Class AD ("Advanced D"), which guarantees exceptional linearity throughout the entire power delivery, thanks to the use of Gallium Nitride (GaN) based FET transistors instead of Silicon.
