At the heart of the Wharfedale EVO 5.2’s high-frequency reproduction lies a revised AMT (Air Motion Transformer) tweeter, now larger at 35x70mm compared to its predecessor. This innovative transducer design offers significant advantages over traditional dome tweeters, delivering faster transient response and lower distortion thanks to its pleated diaphragm construction.
This ultra-thin diaphragm, driven by a powerful magnetic field, ‘squeezes’ air through its folds to produce sound with exceptional clarity and speed. The result is a crisp, controlled and expansive high-frequency performance, capable of revealing the finest details of recordings without sounding analytical or fatiguing. SilentWeave™, Wharfedale’s patented damping material, is also incorporated to reduce internal reflections and maintain a smooth treble response.
The EVO 5.2 features a 50 mm textile dome midrange driver, carefully matched to the tweeter in terms of both efficiency and dispersion.
