An attractive ultra-compact monitor with classically inspired aesthetics that immediately stands out due to the arrangement of the two built-in loudspeakers, with the tweeter being positioned below the mid/bass speaker. This configuration is called "Inverted Drive Geometry" or IDG and is intended to place the midwoofer closer to ear height with the tweeter below, equalising the acoustic centres of the midwoofer and tweeter so that the sound waves coincide at the listener's head, thereby improving the stereo image and contributing to overall sound coherence and transparency.
The mid/bass transducer features a new mineral-filled polypropylene cone for increased rigidity and faster, deeper, tighter bass via a bass-reflex rear-ported configuration. This is aided by a custom-built magnet motor, a die-cast metal chassis and a low-density nitrile peripheral suspension, which has been carefully matched to the diaphragm.
The tweeter, meanwhile, features an ultra-lightweight 28 mm microfibre dome with an exceptionally linear response, reinforced by a rear chamber that places its fundamental resonance frequency well below the cutoff region. A crucial role in the performance of the 750 is undoubtedly played by the frequency divider filter, which has been fine-tuned with the aid of software-based measurement and mapping techniques and features minimised signal paths and very high quality components.
