Thanks to this, this elegant and impeccably executed "supermonitor" speaker with dedicated floor stand, airtight enclosure and four-way, five-driver configuration is able to offer exceptional performance in the reproduction of all types of musical genres.
Specifically, it mounts a woofer with a 305 mm (12") polypropylene cone, two "midwoofers" with a 102 mm (4") polypropylene cone, a 51 mm (2") soft dome midtweeter and one of the sophisticated 19 mm (0.75") titanium dome tweeters used in the spectacular XR50 and XR100 speakers from the legendary New York firm.
Among the relevant technical refinements of this set of transducers, we should first mention the magnetic circuit of the woofer, called Low Distortion High Performance (LD/HP), which substantially reduces distortion, while increasing the power handling capacity. and efficiency to provide performance comparable to a design twice its size.
Another key feature of the ML1 MkII is the metal plate on which the three midrange speakers and the tweeter are symmetrically located, a trick that allows them to be very close to each other, the result being a very precise sound image and a scene extraordinarily wide sound.
