Celebrating 90 years of bringing the world's finest speakers to the world of home audio, today Wharfedale engineers continue the dictum to use technology where it matters to develop speakers that reveal the passion and emotion behind musical performance.

We believe that a connoisseur of sound would find the slightest flow intolerable and, with a connoisseur in mind, we have redesigned and built the new 'Dovedale'. If you are such a listener, you will recognize the importance of - and then insist on possessing - control. Performance and pure quality are reflected in this high-quality speaker.

Manufactured by highly trained and experienced loudspeaker experts at Wharfedale 's headquarters in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, Dovedale is built in the home of British hi-fi.

The new Dovedale further exemplifies Wharfedale 's legacy in high-quality speaker design and manufacturing: balancing fine craftsmanship, natural sound quality and affordability within a beautifully proportioned speaker that has been purchased by millions across the world. world through its various incarnations.

Dovedale has an unmistakable family resemblance. It is a three-way support model, a rarity in the modern era, retaining similar proportions to the classic Dovedale models of yesteryear. Its wood veneer cabinet has a vintage look, but the standard of finish is decidedly contemporary, a tribute to the craftsmanship required to produce such a speaker.

The original Dovedale models, dating back to the W2 in 1959, which was updated to the W2/Dovedale in 1965, were known for their rich, natural sound quality. The new model retains these features, but improves performance in all departments, with free-breathing dynamics and incredible definition in the lows and mids.

A celebration of the 90th anniversary of the iconic Wharfedale brand heritage. Wharfedale 's Dovedale is more than just a reintroduction of a classic model. This is a speaker that exudes authenticity. Designed to appeal to the dedicated music lover.

Dovedale is built into the home of British hi-fi at the Wharfedale headquarters in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. It incorporates key manufacturing, assembly and finishing processes for specially selected products, in addition to the R&D function already located there. A 9,000-square-foot production facility has been added to the existing building, including a new anechoic chamber, for a total of 25,000 square feet of office, laboratory and manufacturing space. It is here that Dovedale is manufactured by highly trained and experienced speaker experts.

Class lasts a lifetime! The Wharfedale Dovedale showcases the timeless design of a stunning speaker enclosure with an authentic heritage. Traditional, simple, beautiful but highly evolved and completely modern design.

Fully updated, using a mix of traditional and advanced technology for optimal performance while staying true to legacy.

Critical analysis of the performance of each box has resulted in the application of internal reinforcements of precise shape and position. This ensures that the cabinet resonances are controlled at levels well below the musical signal, allowing you to listen to the recording without the coloration interfering with your listening enjoyment.

A three-way speaker in the classic Wharfedale tradition, beautifully hand-veneered with an inlaid front and traditional fabric grille.

Both the midrange unit and the treble unit are offset in front to disperse reflections from the edges of the cabinet and provide superior stereo imaging, and the speakers are provided in coordinated pairs so that sound images in the sound field stereo are always precisely located. The speakers have been acoustically tuned through hundreds of hours of listening tests with all types of music to ensure that the cabinet, crossover and drive units work together coherently and smoothly.

Dovedale takes advantage of its wide front end by incorporating a large (by modern standards) bass driver with a 260mm (10in) Kevlar® cone - mounted in a rigid cast chassis, this combination delivers rich, controlled bass output. with exceptional dynamic performance.

The 10-inch (25 cm) bass and 5-inch (13 cm) midrange drivers feature cones made from woven Kevlar, an exceptionally strong and rigid synthetic fiber discovered in the same year the original Dovedale was released and unused for speaker diaphragms up to a decade later.

Dovedale's ceramic magnet 25mm fabric dome tweeter, featured across the Wharfedale Heritage series, has been further improved by incorporating a damped rear chamber to absorb output from the rear of the dome. This has the advantage of reducing the tweeter's resonant frequency to much less than the crossover region, allowing full high-frequency detail and harmonics to be revealed without affecting the smoothness of the high-frequency performance.

The Wharfedale Dovedale stand is custom designed in collaboration with Wharfedale Acoustic Design Director, Peter Comeau. Every aspect has been considered to create the perfect presentation of the Dovedale Heritage speaker.

Handcrafted in England, using strong British steel and a luxurious furniture quality glass insert, the Dovedale stand reinforces the no-compromise focus on the 'Made in the UK' theme for the return of the Wharfedale Dovedale.

The design is based on an open frame made of carbon steel and with furniture quality glass inserts on the top and bottom. All pillars except one are filled with cushioning material, the other allows for cable management, with four large stainless steel pegs at the base. The stand ensures that each speaker is positioned at the correct height, as well as reducing bass and floor interactions and providing stable, torsionally rigid support. The package is completed with a set of stainless steel decoupling tips and a pair of handling gloves.
