The smallest of the EPICON family, it produces an astonishingly large, precise and three-dimensional sound that will impress even the most rigorous demands of true audiophiles. The two-channel speaker features a 6½-inch woofer and a silk dome cone tweeter. In fact, the technological advances designed for the larger EPICON 6 and EPICON 8 have been channelled into the EPICON 2 to create a loudspeaker that reaches far beyond visual expectations for its size. The loudspeaker demonstrates a very linear and coherent response and integrates well with small to medium sized rooms. The woofer extension can reach slow speeds and thus reach deep into the lower frequencies. Still, in most configurations the result will turn out to be a much larger sonic image of a loudspeaker than it really is. Each side of the EPICON 2 is constructed from 6 individual layers of MDF, all glued together. In the EPICON 2 these are anchored to the main 53mm multi-layer MDF structure of the cabinet. CNC milling process is applied for the manufacturing of the recess and holes for the bass ports and terminals in the rear chassis. With a thickness of 33 mm the double-layer front baffle ensures that the energy of the drivers is radiated in the form of acoustic energy, and not as vibrations in the enclosure. The curved shape of the front baffle is also a contributing factor in ensuring a stable acoustic platform.
