The AV8805A is an upgrade of the celebrated AV8805, now equipped with numerous enhancements including 8K/60 Hz signal scaling and routing, 4K/120 Hz signal routing and HDR10+, Dynamic HDR and HDCP 2.3 support, as well as other technologies made possible by HDMI 2.1 compatibility, and support for video transfer rates up to 40 Gb/s to avoid any limitations.
The AV8805A incorporates advanced multi-channel functionality, including support for DTS:X Pro, which allows up to 13 channels of DTS:X decoding to be used for speaker configurations of the type 7.2.6 ó 9.2.4. These same settings can also be used to immerse the user in films encoded in the innovative IMAX Enhanced system.
Other supported 3D audio formats include Dolby Atmos, Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization Technology, the aforementioned IMAX Enhanced and Auro-3D. Without the need for dictated height channels, the new height virtualisation technologies create virtual height effects from a more manageable 7.1, 5.1 or 5.1 speaker configuration 2.1.
A dedicated 8K-compatible HDMI input on the AV8805A now allows routing of 8K/60 Hz and 4K/120 Hz video signals. Support for enhanced HDR functionalities such as HDR10+ and Dynamic HDR is also available, while a new feature called Quick Media Switching (QMS) allows instant switching to the frame rate of a given source to eliminate black screens. HDR, HLG (Hybrid log Gamma) and Dolby Vision support is maintained, as well as 4:4:4 Pure Colour encoding and routing BT.2020.
The AV8805A is also capable of upscaling existing Full HD and 4K content to 8K resolution, enhancing even very low-quality video material and bringing fresh air to the playback of your favourite movies and concerts. It also maintains eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel) compatibility, enabling the transmission of lossless, object-based audio signals such as DTS:X and Dolby Atmos from TV apps or connected devices using a single HDMI cable.
Gaming enthusiasts will not only benefit from 4K/120 Hz routing, but also from Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) to reduce frame discontinuities and maintain a sharp, accurate image at all times. Meanwhile, Audio Low Latency Mode (ALLM) and Quick Frame Transport (QFT) features reduce delays so you'll never fall behind the competition again.
