Designed to maximise ease of use without sacrificing musicality, the A1.2 is an automatic turntable whose base drive is still manufactured in Germany by a company with unique expertise in the field, with the final assembly being carried out in the Czech Republic by specialised technicians.
In terms of engineering, this is an effective wooden chassis design with no hollow spaces and high mass, which reduces resonances to a minimum and decouples the A1.2 from external influences.
Silicone-absorbing feet isolate the turntable from the surface on which it rests, an essential feature of any vinyl player, as in practice this is an additional damping mechanism.
The Pro-Ject uses belt drive and is fitted with an extremely lightweight 8.3" (211 mm) aluminium arm with carbon fibre reinforced cartridge carrier, as well as a factory preset phono preamp and Pick it MM E moving-magnet pick-up cartridge, a combination that makes the A1.2 a genuine plug & play product.
