Adjusting scale for capsules
Support force is the downward pressure applied to the weight of the tonearm of a turntable through the pickup cartridge and therefore to the groove of the vinyl record. Therefore, it is essential that this force is correct in order to maximize sound performance and reduce the risk of reading errors or excessive disc wear.
The support force meter designed by Ortofon is a simple tool used to determine the support force (pressure) of the stylus on the groove of the record thanks to a high-precision weight scale printed on its plastic body.
