Based on the idea of transferring the exceptional performance of the Forte model to a more compact format turntable, the C-Dur is a belt-driven vinyl player that stands out first and foremost for the extremely smooth rotation, without the slightest background noise, of its platter. Constructed from aluminium and weighing 5.2 kg, the platter rests on a 900 g resonance-free aluminium "suplatter" and comes complete with an inverted bearing for quiet and precise playback.
The opulent spinning block, meanwhile, combines a polished stainless steel shaft with a ceramic ball in its upper area due to its extreme hardness and inertia. In addition, a Teflon plate with a satin-finished surface helps to increase the level of damping and the smoothness of the rotation.
Another key component of the C-Dur is the readout arm, namely EAT's celebrated C-Note, a high-precision instrument with an effective length of 10" (254 mm) and a carbon fibre central body that combines all the advantages of unipivot arms with a Cardan-type design.
As for the engine, a very low-noise model is used which is completely insulated thanks to its placement on a steel ring which is then mounted on the C-Dur chassis.
